2025 Planet Parade Run/Walk
Is "Planet Parade" a technical term? No. Aren't the planets always in alignment? Yes! So what is a Planet Parade Run/Walk? We want to celebrate this rare event where we will be able to see four planets! Venus, Saturn, Jupiter, and Mars will all be visible in the evening sky—Uranus and Neptune are there too, but a telescope is needed to see them.
Join us for a 4 mile out and back run/walk from Inspiration Point to Wildcat Peak.
What to bring:
- Layers (we're in the Bay, microclimates are real)
- Water
- Headlamp
- Curiosity for the evening sky
Not necessary to bring, but it might be more fun if you do:
- Star/planet themed outfit
- Download the SkyView app, this can help you identify the planets (there is a free version)
- Celestial themed snacks
- Dogs are welcome!

Run to support the Shellmound 2 Shellmound Prayer Walk
We will be meeting at the Emeryville Shellmound and run to the West Berkeley Shellmound via the Bay Trail (mostly) to join Sogorea Te' Land Trust, who is hosting the walk, and other community members in support of indigenous communities whose land we are on and who continue to care for this land.
DETAILS
- Meet at 9:00am for a casual run (9:30-10:00 minute pace).
- The run will be just over 3 miles
- Shellmound walk begins at 10:00 am. You may want to bring a small pack with you for pants, sweater, light jacket, water for our walk from the West Berkeley Shellmound back to the Emeryville Shellmound. This will be a 3 mile walk. Total mileage is 6 miles (run + walk).
- THE RUN IS NOT PART OF THE PRAYER WALK. This is our way to engage runners in learning about the Shellmounds, the land we run on, and join the walk in solidarity.
- Please reach out if you have any questions. Thank you.
